OKC continues to see strong employment trends

For the month of July, Oklahoma City had an unemployment rate of just 2.8%. This represented the 8th-lowest unemployment rate in the U.S. for metros with more than one million people. The rate remained unchanged from June’s data.

For comparison, Las Vegas had the highest unemployment rate in the U.S. among major metros at 6.1%.

The news was similar on the state level, as Oklahoma’s unemployment rate stayed at 3% for the same time frame. In total, 43 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties had a lower unemployment rate than this time last year. A further 17 counties were unchanged. The national rate came in at 3.5%.
