There is no better time to go shopping than tax free weekend in OKC

Oklahomans, mark your calendars. The much-awaited tax-free weekend is just around the corner, providing a great opportunity for back-to-school shoppers to save some extra cash.

Since 2007, Oklahoma law has mandated the waiving of sales tax on certain items during the first week of August, and this year is no exception.

The tax-free weekend for 2023 will kick off at 12:01 a.m. Friday and will conclude at midnight Sunday. During this time, the state sales tax of 4.5% will be completely waived, and even county and municipal taxes will be exempted, resulting in a higher overall discount for shoppers.
