OKC boasts third-lowest unemployment rate in the country

According to the latest data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Oklahoma City has the third-lowest unemployment rate in the U.S. among metros with more than 1 million in population. For December, OKC had a rate of just 1.6%. This represents a slight drop from the previous month’s rate of 1.7%. For comparison, Las Vegas had the highest unemployment rate at 6%.

The news was also positive statewide as Oklahoma saw an unemployment rate of 2.3% which was an improvement from the previous month. Overall, the unemployment rate was lower in all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties compared to this time last year.

For comparison, the national unemployment rate was 3.9%
