OKC unemployment rate continues to drop

According to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Oklahoma City metro registered a 1.7% unemployment rate in November. This represents a slight drop from October’s rate of 1.9%.  

The Oklahoma City MSA had the second-lowest unemployment rate among major metros with more than 1 million in population in the U.S. OKC slightly trailed Salt Lake City who earned the top spot with a rate of 1.4%.

The news was also good statewide as all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties had a lower unemployment rate than this time last year. Overall, the state had an unemployment rate of 2.5%. For comparison, the national rate was 4.2%.
