Oklahoma City boasts the lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.

For August, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of 2.6%. This represents the lowest unemployment rate in the U.S. among metros with more than 1 million in population. For comparison, Los Angeles had the highest unemployment rate at 8.8%.

It was also positive news statewide as the unemployment rate was lower in 76 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties for August. As a whole, the state saw a rate of 3.2%. The national rate for August was 5.2%
