OKC Outlets is now home to the latest work of muralist, Carlos Barboza. The outlet shops commemorated the new “Fashion through the Ages” mural with a ribbon cutting ceremony, alongside Greater Oklahoma City Chamber staff on July 21. The artwork includes references to the trends of yesteryear and beyond, while bringing a contemporary aspect to the sole outlet shopping center in Oklahoma City.

Appearing on these types of lists is no accident. The City of Oklahoma City has proven to be responsive to residents, and not combative toward the business community. In fact, we are partners on many levels, and that shows in this latest example of our collective success.

Oklahoma City was listed in the top 10 of WalletHub’s “2022’s Best- & Worst-Run Cities in America” list.

The latest employment data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics continued to show the strength of the Oklahoma City economy. For May, the Oklahoma City MSA had an unemployment rate of just 2.6%.

As July begins, the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber, through its “Stand Tall, Shop Small for OKC” campaign, is urging all Oklahoma City residents to spend money at small businesses around the city to provide a boost to those businesses during the summer months and beyond.

Bar K, the first private development in the Boathouse District, recently began construction of their unique dog park, bar, restaurant and event space concept on three acres near the Oklahoma River alongside the Whitewater Center. Founding partner David Hensley graciously sat down with VeloCityOKC for a quick update on the project.

COOP Ale Works is moving forward with conversion of the historic 23rd Street Armory into a brewery, hotel, event center and restaurant after buying the property from the state after a years-long delay.
