Market to open in former Midtown theater

The final piece to redeveloping the block that was once home to the only theater in Midtown is set with plans for a combined market and micro-restaurants. The Pivot Project bought the former Uptown Theater and adjoining offices and retail at 1212 N Hudson Ave. last year.


Evereve coming to Classen Curve

OKLAHOMA CITY – After construction on Classen Curve’s expansion is complete, several stores will fill the space, including the second Evereve store to come to Oklahoma.

Shannon Barghols, marketing director for Classen Curve, The Triangle at Classen Curve and Nichols Hills Plaza, said that securing the women’s clothing store for Oklahoma City relied on having the right space for the company.

“We didn’t have the ideal spot and then our expansion made room for a lot of different stores,” Barghols said. “It was on our wish list for a while.”

OKLAHOMA CITY - The first new affordable housing built downtown in decades was officially opened Tuesday with more than half of its 48 units already leased.

Commons on Classen, 1320 Classen Drive, was built on the former headquarters of Neighborhood Housing Services of Oklahoma, a site Director Roland J. Chupik said was the only option for building new affordable senior housing.

Tommy Yi, co-founder of StarSpace46, plans to develop the area around his business with local leaders into an urban area similar to the Plaza District or Midtown. “We are really focusing on tech or anything that has to do with craft,” Yi said. “We are being very inclusive and open with the local residents, which is what you really didn’t see with any of the other areas.”
