Companies debut in downtown Oklahoma City

With development projects in various stages of completion across the downtown Oklahoma City area, a couple of notable benchmarks were achieved on Tuesday.

Workers installed a large sign displaying GE's classic corporate logo on the company's Oil & Gas Technology Center near downtown Oklahoma City.

The $125 million facility is the first of GE's research centers to be focused solely on innovation in a single sector — the oil and gas industry. The building will house 130 employees after it opens.

On the other side of downtown, officials from 21c Museum Hotel revealed the color of the company's emblematic penguins that will grace its Oklahoma City location when it opens next month. The penguins will be purple.
