Indoor skydiving lands in Oklahoma City
Before trying indoor skydiving at iFly, Oklahoma City's newest entertainment destination, I made sure to ask an instructor for his best advice.
“Remain calm,” said instructor Stig Callahan, who had sort of a Sean Connery thing going on in his red skydiving jumpsuit.
Repeating the phrase aloud, I wrote the words in my notebook as legibly as I could, but my hands were shaking and a little sweaty.

Callahan and all of the instructors at iFly are rather glamorous. They wear red jumpsuits with their names embroidered on the chest and look a bit like the Red Power Ranger wearing their protective helmets and goggles. One was a former paratrooper in the Serbian army. He recited the impressive number of jumps he had under his belt with a fabulous accent, but my eyes glazed over and I forgot to write it down.
All of iFly's instructors are certified by the International Bodyflight Association and some can do aerobatic tricks inside the wind tunnel including floating upside down and walking horizontally on the glass walls — both were demonstrated for me after my somewhat less graceful flight.
The new iFly Oklahoma City just opened at 13600 Pawnee Drive in the Chisholm Creek development off Memorial Road. Austin-based iFly Holdings LLC has 43 facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
